The bidding strategy of energy storage power station formulated in most papers relies on the day-ahead predicted price and regulation demand, and the effectiveness of the bidding strategy is based on the premise that day-ahead forecast is accurate [9, 10, 11].
In recent years, battery energy storages stations (BESSs) account for the largest proportion in large-scale energy storage power station projects due to its advantages such as rapid response, high integrated power, decreasing cost year by year and short construction cycle.

Battery energy storage projects totalling 627.4 MW have secured contracts in the UK’s 2023-24 Capacity Market auction, representing an increase of more than 60% compared to the previous round, the National Grid Electricity System Operator (NGESO) announced last week.
According to provisional auction results released by NGESO, almost half of the winning battery projects propose one-hour duration systems, while about 40% are for two-hour facilities. The list of winning schemes includes Zenobe, Gresham House, Harmony Energy, Pivot Power and SUSI Storage, among others.
This capacity will be delivered from its battery energy storage system under construction in Salisbury, England (10MW) and its Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm (74MW, SSE share 49%) off the Scottish coast. *A de-rating factor is applied to all capacity according to rules set by the UK Government.
Of the ~46MW of pre-qualified capacity eligible for the 2026/27 auction, 46,031.692MW won contracts, representing 93.42%. Significantly, the number of battery storage assets continued to grow.
